In 2010, Saint Nicholas Mouse Rescue of Virginia Beach became a private rescue providing foster and permanent care for domesticated or fancy mice that come from animal control or other animal rescue services. Mice are accepted only through established rescue agencies in the Tidewater, Virginia area. No individual or private arrangements can be made for pick up or drop off. If you cannot keep your mouse, first take it to a rescue organization in the Tidewater, Virginia area and then contact SNMR using the form below. Saint Nicholas Mouse Rescue monitors all pet rescue sites in the area. In 2011 SNMR began rescuing hamsters, rats, gerbils, and ferrets. In 2013 SNMR became a 501 (c) (3). PROUD MEMBER OF GUIDE STAR

This is the story of Lady Isabella, our first rescue. I saw her picture on the animal control website. She had been held for six months without being adopted. What a sad picture. She has since crossed over the rainbow bridge, but she was happy with a cage full of toys, lots of food, and someone who loved her.
We exist for small rodents like Isabella that are forgotten in a shelter or too old or too sick for a public shelter to bother with. We cannot take all of them, but we try. And we try to find homes for those that are adoptable.
