What We Do
· Rescue (mice and other rodents) from situations that are abusive, endangering and
neglectful.
· Inform the public of these situations in order to put a stop to animal abuse and
irresponsible breeding.
· Provide foster & permanent homes for these animals.
· Provide necessary veterinary care; and maintain a home based shelter for rescued
animals.
It all started with one small mouse named Isabella
and a trip to the local animal shelter where she had spent six months waiting for a new home. Upon finding other small rodents at the shelter in a similar situation, it became clear that there was a need for a rodent rescue in the Hampton Roads area. Sadly, there are many adoptable rodents like Isabella that live out their lives unloved in shelters or are euthanized for space. The rescue has changed the fate of many rodents in the area by providing a peaceful and safe environment to live.
Our goals for the future are;
· Provide financial aid for veterinarian care to spay, neuter, or treat health issues in
companion rodents.
· Maintain a foster network with the goal of forever placements.
· Continue to educate the public in the care and health of rodents.
· Promote small animal companions as pets.
